Unusual use for water rescue at the Attersee. A sailboat caught fire and had to be extinguished on open water.
On Tuesday afternoon, the emergency services of the Austrian water rescue service in Litzlberg and the Seewalchen fire brigade were alerted. The reason: a sailboat started to burn. Firefighters managed to contain the fire and tow the boat away.
A fire broke out in the harbour
The boat caught fire in the harbor of the Kammersee Sailing Club in Litzlberg and members of the Sailing Club managed to get it out onto the open water just in time to prevent it from spilling over to other boats.
people were not injured. The fire was probably started by a faulty battery.
