An unknown perpetrator attacked a tobacco shop in Graz on Wednesday evening. According to initial investigations, this could be the same man who robbed gas stations in Preding near Weiz and in Oberwart in Burgenland. The police have since published mugshots and a video and are asking for information.
A series of robberies at petrol stations and tobacconists are currently keeping the Styrian police on their toes. In three cases, according to preliminary investigation, it could be the same perpetrator.
The first incident took place on August 2 at a gas station in Preding near Weiz. The unknown perpetrator demanded cash from the employee at gunpoint. Wednesday evening of this week there was an attack on a tobacco shop in Graz-Mariatrost, where the perpetrator ran off without any loot (see video above).
A gas station in Kemeten in the Burgenland district of Oberwart was attacked on Thursday morning. The suspect fled with $500 in cash. Police now suspect a connection between the crimes and have published photos and a video.
A connection with another robbery of a tobacco shop Thursday evening in Graz-St. Veit is not currently suspected. The police asks via tel.nr. 059-133-60-3333
