The Tauernautobahn A10 towards Salzburg was partially closed after a serious accident. The twelve kilometer long traffic jam is slowly dissolving.
After a traffic accident with several seriously injured and a large-scale rescue operation between Gmünd and Rennweg, the Tauernautobahn was temporarily closed on Saturday morning. In the afternoon it was clear that the motorway towards Carinthia and the Katschbergtunnel were free again. In the direction of Salzburg, traffic is diverted along one lane past the accident site and the five-kilometre-long traffic jam is slowly easing here.
In the morning, at kilometer 113 of the A10, an accident occurred involving several vehicles and reportedly involving three seriously injured people and four rescue helicopters. Several fire brigades from the surrounding villages were also present. Due to the total closure of the Tauernautobahn, the traffic jam had grown to twelve kilometers.
