On the morning of Monta, a glider crashed in Weißpriach im Lungau. The exact location and circumstances of the incident are still unclear. An extensive search is currently underway by fire, police and rescue services.
The alarm went off at around 11:30 am, an eyewitness reported seeing two white wings above the forest from her quarters in Mariapfarr, the plane then swayed slightly and suddenly disappeared.
The fire brigade, police and rescue services immediately came to the scene. Rescue workers are still searching for the crashed plane. “The first including a police helicopter was not successful,” says fire service manager Harald Graggaber.
