Ten dead in Buffalo – ‘Psychological problems’: American gunman was in consultation

Date:

The 18-year-old, who police say killed ten people in a supermarket in the American city of Buffalo, was at a counseling session last June because of possible psychological problems. He had previously expressed a “general threat” in his class, study researcher Joseph Gramaglia said in Buffalo on Sunday. In the conversation, however, he showed no abnormalities that would have led to further steps, it was said.

This could be notes in his file or a more comprehensive check of the young man’s mental health.

The young white man is accused of opening fire with an assault rifle at a supermarket frequented mainly by blacks on Saturday, killing ten people. Eleven of the 13 victims were black, according to police.

Suicidal suspect
According to police, the heavily armed gunman was placed in the front room of the store and eventually surrendered. The suspect is said to have held a gun under his chin during the arrest and is therefore now under special observation in custody for a possible suicide.
