White powder was sprinkled on a children’s playground in Klagenfurt-Welzenegg. Concerned parents have already had to make this discovery twice. The magistrate has cordoned off the area. The investigation is ongoing.
On August 21, a family with friends and the little ones visited the children’s playground in the Welzenegg district. During the ball game, the little daughter came to the mother with a white, crystalline powder on her hands and asked what it was. It looked like sugar, so the girl immediately wanted to try it, but her mother would not allow it.
Over a length of about 20 meters and a width of 3 meters, someone had scattered large amounts of powder; the assumption was obvious that it could be a plant poison. The family has taken a sample and is considering legal action for suspected damage to the community.
“Open eyes!”
The irritated playground visitors immediately reported the sighting via the internet platform “Open your eyes! Klagenfurt” to the magistrate. The Stadtgraten detachment came in to clear away the gunpowder. An advertisement has been announced.
On August 26, the white powder was scattered again. On that day, the magistrate had the area cordoned off with bars. “Gunpowder and incidents are currently being assessed,” said mayor Christian Scheider, who puts the health and safety of the children first.
