A cycling race in the Tyrolean Unterland was overshadowed on Sunday by two serious falls: an athlete collided with an oncoming car and another participant was fatally injured by a bottle lying on the road.
According to the police, both accidents took place in Brandenberg in the Kufstein district. At around 10 a.m., a 34-year-old resident said he drove too fast into a corner and crashed into a car in the oncoming lane as a result. The athlete suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital after first aid in the rescue.
