The fire broke out around 10 a.m. in a barn on a farm. It developed into a major fire that destroyed the entire building.

The fire was eventually extinguished by the volunteer fire brigades of Modriach, Edelschrott, Hirschegg, Pack and St. Martin am Wöllmißberg.
