A 49-year-old hunter from the Ferlach area clearly could not cope with the divorce from his 50-year-old ex-wife. Completely hysterical, he followed and threatened her with hundreds of WhatsApp messages in recent months.
“On August 31, the 49-year-old messaged the victim with a photo of a long gun, threatening texts and emojis of skulls, cannonballs and pistols,” police said. The frightened 50-year-old from Klagenfurt then filed a complaint. “The 49-year-old was banned from entering and approaching anyone, as well as temporarily refraining from using weapons,” police said.

During the police investigation, officers found sixteen long guns, two pistols and a large amount of ammunition in the home of the man, who is also a hunter. “The 49-year-old gave the painful divorce as a motive,” the police explain. “After consultation with the Public Prosecution Service, he was widely reported.”
