The animal world of Herberstein is in mourning: “Maximus”, the clever young lion, who always made funny faces and sported a cheeky mop of hair, had to be put to sleep.
On November 16, 2019, in the animal world of Herberstein, the three lion brothers “Maximus”, “Spartacus” and “Tiberius” were born. Mama “Amira” was immediately proud of the sweet offspring – the reunion with the beautiful lion father “Caesar” also worked.
Since then, the five have lived with the family in their residence. ‘Maximus’ in particular became the favorite of the guests because he was always so smart, made funny faces or sported a cheeky mane of hair.
“Maxmius” was put to sleep
Now he’s dead. Karin Winkler, Head of Marketing, debunks rumors: “He was not attacked by his pack and bitten to death! Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with spinal and hip disorders, which worsened noticeably. Unfortunately, eventually so bad that he could no longer be helped and he put to sleep was the humane solution.” Mama “Amira” is looking for him. .- .
The Herberstein Animal World is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
