Diesel had to be pumped out on the Carinthian highway after a truck accident

Date:

On the A10 Tauern motorway in Carinthia, a truck ended up in a ditch after the vehicle crashed through the guardrail. To be on the safe side, the diesel was also pumped from the tank.

The comrades of the FF Feistritz/Drau and St. Peter-Spittal responded to a truck accident on the A10 Tauern motorway near Mauthbrücken around 7:15 am on Tuesday. “A truck left the road, crashed through a guardrail and came to a stop on the side of the dike,” says a firefighter.

Driver freed himself
The two drivers were able to free themselves and were treated by the Red Cross, while the fire brigade secured the road and set up a three-way fire protection system. “To avoid an environmental hazard, the diesel also had to be pumped from the truck’s fuel tank.”
