Two horses did not survive the collision with a car in Fehring (Southeast Styria) on the B57 on Wednesday. They had escaped from a meadow with a third animal and were walking around in the fog.
In the early morning hours, the three horses escaped from a pasture in the Schiefer area (municipality of Fehring) and wandered around in the misty dawn in the area of Güssinger Straße (B57).
Suddenly there were horses on the road
At around 5:50 am, a driver from Slovenia drove his car on the B57 from Jennersdorf towards Feldbach. Suddenly the three horses crossed the road from left to right, completely unexpected for the 31-year-old. A collision occurred.
The driver suffered a shock
A foal was so seriously injured in the collision that it died on the spot. A second horse had to be euthanized by the vet. Only the third animal remained unharmed. The Slovenian received a shock, but was unharmed. His car was totaled.
