Flood in Greece – Missing couple from Graz: man’s body also found

Date:

The next bad news about the missing couple from Graz in Greece: a male body has now been found on the beach. It could be the missing Styria. A DNA test must provide certainty.

Graz couple Michaela and Philipp have been missing since the violent storm ‘Daniel’ caused flooding and serious damage in central Greece. Early this week, a female body washed up on shore, and it could be the woman from Styria. As the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms, a male body has now also been found.

In both cases, certainty must be obtained by comparing the DNA of the parents. It is difficult to estimate when the results will be available; According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, these are no longer expected this week. Greek media reports that the woman’s body was identified as a woman from Graz are incorrect.

House was torn away
The couple from Graz married in August with 40 guests in the Pelion region, where the bride’s family has been vacationing for decades. The newlyweds remained in the region. When the storm hit Greece, the bridal couple did not want to flee, but stayed in the bungalow. According to local eyewitnesses, it was torn away and probably washed into the sea. Since then there has been no trace of Michaela and Philipp – both about 35 years old.
