The 21-year-old driving license holder from Marchtrenk drove his car in Gmunden on the Bahnhofstrasse towards the city and apparently wanted to turn right onto the B145 towards Altmünster. His three friends, aged between 18 and 24, were also driving the car. The driver got too far on the left side of the road, ran over a street sign and crashed into the driveway guardrail. The vehicle overturned as a result of driving up the top of the guard rail and was thrown into the opposite lane of exit B145.
on the roof
There the car came to a stop on its roof about 25 meters away. All four occupants were able to get out of the vehicle before emergency services arrived. They were injured and taken to the Salzkammergut clinic in Vöcklabruck. A 21-year-old alcohol test performed in the hospital resulted in a blood alcohol level of 1.52 in the blood. His driver’s license was taken from him. The vehicle was a total loss.
