A plane crash took place in a clearing in the Neuenstein-Raboldshausen area in the German state of Hesse on Wednesday around 1:25 p.m. As the East Hesse police station announced, the two-seater propeller plane crashed in a field around noon. The two occupants were killed.
According to current knowledge, a two-seat propeller plane from a company in northern Germany crashed for unknown reasons, fatally injuring the two occupants.
The plane that crashed was the “Pilatus PC-9” model from a company in Kiel. At the time of the crash, the aircraft was traveling on behalf of the Bundeswehr.
The Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation has been called in, and the police and prosecutors are also investigating. According to police, the accident scene was largely cordoned off. The cause is still unclear.
Press spokeswoman Sandra Suski from the East Hesse police station provided further details about the accident in the afternoon (see video above). It is currently being investigated whether substances in the aircraft can ‘explode’. The Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation was also called to the scene to clarify the circumstances of the accident.
