A Serbian coach made his last stop in Salzburg late on Sunday evening. The double-decker broke down on the highway because it ran out of fuel.
At around 11:15 p.m., Salzburg police were asked for help by Asfinag because a defective coach with about 40 passengers came to a standstill on the A1 West Autobahn.
The bus ran out of fuel at the airport exit, forcing the Serbian driver to ‘park’ his vehicle in the deceleration lane. Despite the supply of diesel, a towing company eventually had to be hired to get the coach off the highway.
Also on Monday evening, the council removed a Turkish semi-trailer driver from traffic because he could not produce a valid permit for commercial freight transport. Another driver failed the breath test.
