A spectacular traffic accident occurred on the Loferer Bundesstrasse near Waidring (Tirolean district of Kitzbühel) on Sunday afternoon. A woman (30) apparently lost control of the steering wheel due to the blinding sun and ended up on the adjacent slope on the roof. The driver was seriously injured.
At around 5:20 p.m., the young driver from Innsbruck was driving her car on the B178 from Lofer in the direction of St. Johann when she lost control of her vehicle, touched several road control devices and ended up falling several meters over the adjacent embankment. The car came to a stop on its roof. According to the first information, the woman would have been blinded by the sun.
The vehicle was a total loss
The 30-year-old received first aid from the emergency room and the rescue service and was then taken to hospital. The Waidring fire brigade also took action. The car was a total loss.
