Dangerous car accident Tuesday afternoon in Assling in East Tyrol: A motorist drove right in front of a truck onto Drautal Straße and caused an accident in which he, his wife and daughter were injured.
The 51-year-old German motorist turned onto the B100 Drautal Road in the town of Thal in the municipality of Assling on Tuesday just in front of a truck. Although the driver of the truck, a 30-year-old Austrian, tried to brake and swerve, he was unable to avoid a collision with the car. In addition to the driver, his wife (39) and their nine-year-old daughter were also in the car.
Already left the hospital
All occupants of the car were injured in the collision. The rescue took her to Lienz Hospital. All three were able to leave after outpatient treatment.
The car is a total loss and the extent of the damage to the truck is not yet known, according to the police. During the accident, the B100 had to be closed to all traffic for a short time. Due to the crowds on Tuesday, this caused major traffic jams in both directions.
