Shocking moment for security forces at Innsbruck’s main station on Wednesday evening: After security asked three troublemakers to leave the station hall, one of the unknown people pulled a gun. The trio eventually fled before emergency police arrived. However, the men were arrested a short time later.
Shortly after midnight, ÖBB Security asked the three young men to leave the station hall immediately. “During the ensuing verbal altercation in front of the main entrance, one of the initially unknown men suddenly pulled a gun from the hip pocket of his sweater and pointed it at a security guard,” police said.
The security guards then immediately distanced themselves and alerted the police, after which the three quickly fled.
Empty pistol as murder weapon
As part of a manhunt, the suspected “Pistolero” and his two companions were located and stopped a short time later on Südbahnstrasse. The main suspect was a 20-year-old local man; the seized pistol was a blank weapon.
