His heart for animals proved fatal for a farmer from Wolfsberg on Wednesday morning. The 55-year-old, together with the old farmer’s wife, wanted to rescue a young kitten from a silo on an agricultural plot in the town of Auen.
Fell seven meters into the depths
The farmer himself fell about seven meters into the silo and remained on the floor of the shed with serious injuries. The old farmer’s wife, who saw the fall, immediately alerted the emergency services.
Major deployment of emergency services
In addition to the fire brigade, the rescue helicopter “C11” also rushed to Wolfsberg. “Despite intensive medical first aid, the man succumbed to his serious injuries on the spot,” police said.
