Whether it is the Viennese Wiesn, the Brunner Wiesn or the Oktoberfest in Munich – the alcohol is flowing. The ‘Krone’ asked lawyer Sascha Flatz when it is better to leave your car at home and how best to behave if you have to take an alcohol test.
Driving under the influence of alcohol is never recommended, but a margin of 0.5 per mille still applies. What few people know: there is also a limit for bicycles and e-scooters. Even if your vehicle does not require a driver’s license, you can lose it if you drive drunk.
And if the police carry out alcohol checks – especially during stricter checks around Oktoberfest? “Do not refuse under any circumstances,” advises lawyer Sascha Flatz, because that can be very expensive.
