An alleged attempted rape took place in Vienna-Favoriten on Thursday afternoon. After the 25-year-old, who was traveling with her children at the time, shouted loudly for help, the suspect fled.
Around 5:45 p.m., a previously unknown man tried to pull down the pants of a 25-year-old woman from behind in a stairwell on Alaudagasse. Shortly afterwards, he grabbed the mother of a baby and a small child by the shoulders and pushed her to the ground.
The woman screamed loudly for help
The 25-year-old fought back violently and screamed loudly for help. Therefore, the unknown man finally let go of the woman and fled. She immediately alerted the police. During questioning, the woman stated that she held the door open for the stranger as he came up the stairs, and he thanked her. Shortly afterwards she felt “a sudden shock”. The victim suffered minor injuries in the incident.
