An accident ended tragically on Friday evening near Thalheim in the St. Pölten district: a 28-year-old drove his vehicle off the road for unknown reasons and overturned several times. He was thrown from the car and eventually trapped underneath. A farmer who was driving his tractor past the scene of the accident at that time called the emergency call and came to the man’s aid.
The emergency services lifted the car and freed the seriously injured man. Even though resuscitation measures were immediately initiated, all help for the young driver came too late. He later died at the scene of the accident.
