On Wednesday morning, a rescue team and a helicopter had to be deployed: a couple in Carinthia had been attacked by cows.
The couple from the Feldkirchen district were walking from the Turracher Höhe towards Saureggen on Wednesday when a group of cows stood on the side of the path around 10.10 am.
Woman pressed against dike
For reasons that are still unclear, one of the seven cows attacked the 68-year-old, pushed the woman against the dike and seriously injured her. The 70-year-old man wanted to rush to help, but was also attacked and slightly injured.
The owners of the herd, which in addition to the seven cows also includes three calves, happened to be present and immediately initiated the rescue chain. While they took the animals to the nearby farm, the injured were treated. The woman was flown to the Villach LKH.
