Two more Austrian-Israeli dual nationals are dead following the attack on Israel by Islamist Hamas. They are “victims of Hamas’ brutal terror against Israel,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Thursday evening.
“Our sincere sympathy and condolences go out to the families and friends at this difficult time,” the State Department continued. The two dead are not the two people who are still missing.
The whereabouts of the missing Austrians remain unclear
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there is still no reliable information about the whereabouts of these two dual citizens. No further details were disclosed.
One of the kidnapped is 38-year-old father Tal Shoham. He, his wife Adi, 38, and their children (Yael, three, and son Nave, eight years old) were surprised by attackers in Kibbutz Be’eri and have been missing since every trace of them.
Father of a kidnapped person speaks
Tal Shoham’s father has now spoken out and described the dramatic events to the “Krone”. “They just wanted to live in peace,” he complains – and appeals to governments: “There is no time, work quickly to free the hostages immediately. They will use them as human shields.”
