According to the ELA trade union, it concerns an employee of the company Maver reforms that “he was not restrained” at the time of the accident.

In the statement, ELA said there have been three worker deaths this year due to falls from height and criticized companies for “prioritizing profits over prevention and safety in the workplace.”

In 2023, ELA pointed out that “39 workers in Hego Euskal Herria have died as a result of industrial accidents”, due to “the insecurity in the workplace, which hits hard and working conditions deteriorate year after year.”

ELA has denounced that “there is not enough investment in prevention or safety at work, no importance is given to information and training on risks and companies prioritize profit over the safety and health of the working class.” For this reason, the union has assured that it will continue to condemn “precarious situations that threaten the lives of workers.”
