Doctors at Schärding Hospital advised the mother of two-year-old Antonia from Andorf (Upper Austria) not to have an X-ray because they did not suspect any serious injury. Two hours later, a smooth fracture of the upper arm was discovered at Ried Hospital – after an ‘X-ray’ had been taken of the child.
“Believe us, no X-ray is necessary,” with these words, doctors from the Schärding Clinic sent Theresa S. from Andorf and her two-year-old daughter Antonia home on Tuesday. The girl had previously had an unfortunate fall from an inflatable horse, complained of pain and could not lift her left arm. “I then asked again whether an X-ray was definitely necessary because she could not lift her arm,” the mother tells “Krone”.
