That will be quite expensive for a Tyrolean (40). The man was the target of a civilian patrol in Oberhofen (Innsbruck-Land district) on Sunday. The speedometer in his car showed him as much as 56 km/h too much. But that’s not all: the speeder was also drunk and had drugs in his blood.
The incident happened shortly before 10:30 am. The 40-year-old was driving west on Völser Straße L11 in the Oberhofen area. Only 50 km/h would be allowed there. But instead, the speeder raced down the road at 66 mph. A civilian police patrol became aware of the man.

But the Tyrolean is not only reported for his proud speeding violations. “During the inspection, in addition to a positive breath test, a narcotic disorder was also suspected and an offer was made for a medical examination in Telfs,” the police said. It turned out that the 40-year-old had not only alcohol but also drugs in his blood. He has temporarily lost his driver’s license.
