According to Belgian police, two people were killed in a shooting in the center of Brussels on Monday afternoon. Some media outlets have broadcast amateur videos showing a man shooting a large gun several times near a station. The two victims were apparently Swedish.
These videos show the alleged attacker getting off a motorcycle and later starting shooting at passers-by. According to initial information, he had fled.
The Brussels-Sweden match will be played tonight, which qualifies for the European Championship. The match is to be played at the Heysel Stadium, approximately 5 kilometers from the scene of the shooting. Police spokeswoman Ilse Vande Keere said that officers arrived on the scene early and cordoned off the immediate area.
However, police declined to provide more details about the circumstances of the shooting.
