Do the Viennese police now have the first clue about the homeless murderer? According to information from the “Krone”, a surveillance camera may have captured a suspicious person at the third and so far last crime scene on the Hernalser Belt. Whether it is a witness or even the perpetrator must now be clarified. The investigation is progressing quickly.
In August, a reward of 10,000 euros was offered for relevant information. There has been fear and terror in Vienna’s homeless world for months; the serial killer has been hanging around the federal capital for far too long.

With the first lead, the officials could now put an end to the series of horrors. As has now emerged, a surveillance camera on the Hernalser Belt in Alsergrund (see photo below) would have captured a suspicious person. The last attack by the unknown man took place there on August 9: a 55-year-old was found seriously injured. A few days later the man died from the serious injuries inflicted on him by the unknown man.
As the “Krone” has learned, the Vienna Public Prosecutor’s Office allegedly authorized the search – the photo of the suspect/witness should therefore be published.
The trouble started in July this year, with the first shocking attack taking place early on July 12. A 56-year-old homeless man was found by a passer-by on a park bench on the stairs at Handelskai (see photo below) with several stab and cut wounds. All help came too late for the man.
Just ten days later – on July 22 – the second attack took place. A homeless woman (51) was attacked with a knife by an unknown person in Venice Au Park. The woman survived with serious injuries and has since been released from hospital.
