A 51-year-old widow demanded exactly 100,000 euros from her ex-boyfriend after their divorce. According to the suspect, she would also be entitled to the amount: according to a so-called cohabitation agreement. A contract made between unmarried couples, especially in Switzerland. The woman had to answer for serious coercion and forgery of documents at the Vienna Regional Criminal Court on Thursday.
An unusual trial took place at the Regional Criminal Court in Vienna on Thursday. A 51-year-old widow – who says she is rich and lives in Vienna and Como – had to answer for severe coercion and forgery of documents. After separating from her long-term boyfriend, she allegedly demanded financial compensation and the repayment of alleged loans, using threats and false documents.
Wanted 100,000 euros after the relationship ended
The defendant has firmly rejected the accusations: “That is a shame. Beyond good and evil!” She claimed that after ending the relationship she was entitled to exactly 100,000 euros based on a so-called cohabitation contract, to the surprise of judge Martina Semper. Such a contract is usually concluded between unmarried couples, especially in Switzerland. In the defendant’s case, however, according to her account, this happened when their relationship was already “in limbo,” as she admitted.
“I looked into what was common there for safety,” she said, “so we wanted to avoid having to break things down into small pieces.” She also repeatedly lent money to the ex-husband, which she is now entitled to now that she is no longer with him: “He didn’t even invite me to his mother’s funeral. I was incredibly offended.”
Wanted ex „destroy“
The woman had been in a relationship with the person concerned, an asset manager who worked in London, for about ten years. In court, she tried to explain in detail that the divorce had been “incredibly complicated and complicated.” However, it is clear to the prosecutor that she supported her financial claims against her ex by promising him the destruction of his economic existence.
She is said to have threatened, among other things, in the summer of 2021 that she would make his ‘missteps’ and all sexual contacts public among his customers and acquaintances. She is also said to have submitted a so-called consultancy agreement, according to which she was entitled to 3,500 euros in pounds sterling per month for her services in his company. ‘I have followed training courses on how to conduct sales conversations.’ She also ‘supported her ex with business psychology.’
Dubious contract
From the prosecutor’s point of view, there are two points that are irritating about the consultancy contract: on the one hand, it is handwritten by the suspect, and on the other hand, the man’s signature is said to be a forgery.
The hearing was adjourned for the questioning of the asset manager. The lawyer has requested the intervention of a graphological expert to prove the authenticity of the disputed signatures.
