More than a hundred people are cut off from the outside world for hours due to a storm in the area of ​​the Heilstollen in Bad Gastein: the only road is closed due to the danger of falling trees. Also, no one is allowed directly into the tunnels. People must stay in the building: for safety reasons. “Everyone is well taken care of and things are going well,” says the general manager.

For a few hours now, the many affected people have no longer been able to leave the Heilstollen building: they are not allowed to enter the tunnels or on the only access road. Reason: it’s too dangerous. “We will receive new information between 5 and 6 p.m. Then we will decide further,” said the company from Heilstollen in response to a question from “Krone”.

Christoph Köstinger, head of the healing tunnel, emphasizes: “Safety comes first. All people are taken care of. We are waiting for the next development.” The fire brigade also confirms the associated roadblock and adds: “They are doing well, they are being cared for and we are in contact.”

According to the state fire brigade association, the storm hit Bad Gastein particularly hard. There have already been several reports of fallen trees and strong gusts of wind. The fire brigade advises the population: “Please stay at home! Find safe places. Any stay outside buildings is life-threatening.”
