After an alcohol-related traffic accident in Lungau, something strange happened: a Moldovan (22) drove his van off the B99 near St. Margarethen. The vehicle overturned. Police found the drunk driver at the scene of the accident. But two passengers had fled earlier.
A witness saw two men fleeing the scene after the accident. Police then sent out a drone to locate the two. And the drone soon had success: the two men, a Romanian (27) and a Bulgarian (25), were discovered in a nearby forest. Neither of them nor the driver were injured.
Because the driver’s alcohol test showed 1.1 per mille, the police confiscated his driver’s license. Tamsweg volunteer firefighters were able to recover the vehicle with the help of a crane.
