Hamas announces the release of two more hostages

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) militias, the Ezzedin al Qassam Brigades, have announced the release of two more hostages held so far in the Gaza Strip. The spokesperson of the Islamist group Abu Obeida, identified as Nurit Yitzhak and Yochved Lifshitz, has been released by “reasons of force majeure” and reasons of “illness”.

Abu Obeida reiterated that Israel refused to accept the release of these two hostages last Friday, but that they ultimately decided to release the two prisoners “despite the fact that the occupation (Israel) has failed eight times to adhere to the procedures agreed with Israel.” the sponsors of the agreement”.

The Hamas spokesman emphasized that this agreement was possible thanks to the mediation by Egypt and Qatar.

Israeli authorities have confirmed that Hamas captured 222 hostages during its militia’s raid on Israeli territory on October 7.
