While turning on Tuesday evening, the driver of a panel van hit an e-bike driver on the corner of Münzgrabenstrasse and Steyrgasse in Graz. The 19-year-old fell and was injured. The unknown man fled. The police are now looking for witnesses.
Around 9:30 p.m., a 19-year-old woman from Graz was riding her e-bike west on Steyrergasse. At the intersection with Münzgrabenstrasse she wanted to turn left and drove into the left turn lane on Steyrergasse. A driver drove a white van (further details unknown) in the same direction.
19 year old lost control
The driver overtook the e-biker as she was turning left in the turning lane and hit her with the right rear of his vehicle. The 19-year-old then lost control of her bicycle and fell to the ground. She was slightly injured (according to the current state of the investigation) and was taken to hospital by the Red Cross.
Despite the accident, the unknown person continued his journey west along Steyrergasse without stopping.
