Criticism from Guterres – Israel no longer wants to issue visas to UN employees

Date:

After UN Secretary General António Guterres’ critical statements about Israel, there will be no more visas for representatives of the United Nations. Israeli UN Ambassador Gilad Erdan announced this on Wednesday. It’s time to teach them a lesson.

UN Secretary General António Guterres had previously criticized Israeli counter-attacks in the Gaza Strip, calling them “clear violations of international humanitarian law”. At the same time, he condemned Hamas’ terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, but said it did not take place “in a vacuum.” By this he referred to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.

The Israeli side has now announced that it has already denied entry to emergency response coordinator Martin Griffith. “It’s time we teach them a lesson,” said Israeli UN Ambassador Gilad Erdan. He announced that United Nations representatives would no longer receive visas. Guterres was also asked to resign (see video above).

Guterres: “False representations”
Guterres was “shocked by the false statements.” He did not justify Hamas’ terrorist acts. “The opposite was the case.” He now wants to correct that, especially out of respect for the victims and their families. Meanwhile, the head of the Arab League, Ahmed Abul Gheit, defended the UN Secretary General. It is a “shameful attack aimed at silencing every voice that speaks the truth.”

As reported, terrorists on behalf of Hamas carried out a massacre of civilians in Israel on October 7. More than 1,400 people died during and in the following days. Militants have also kidnapped more than 200 people in the densely populated coastal area. The Israeli army has been attacking targets there ever since. According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, 5,791 Palestinians had been killed as of Tuesday.
