A serious traffic accident took place on the S1 in Vienna on Sunday afternoon. The two occupants of the car suffered unknown injuries. A dog that was also in the car was unharmed.
The car had previously left the road for an unknown reason, crashed into a concrete barrier and overturned. As a result of the accident, both occupants were trapped in the car.
Difficult recovery
A total of 24 emergency services from the Vienna Professional Fire Brigade were on site. With the help of hydraulic scissors they were able to free the injured from the wreckage.
Dog unharmed
Both prisoners were taken to hospitals. A dog that was also in the vehicle was unharmed and was being treated. The car was towed away with the help of a fire brigade tow truck.
An hour-long closure
During the operation, the S1 towards Vösendorf was completely closed. The result was traffic congestion. It is still unclear why the accident took place in the direction of Vösendorf. The investigation is ongoing.
