On Tuesday morning, several Last Generation climate activists blocked the Vienna Ring to once again draw attention to the climate crisis. The day before, there were simultaneous protests in two states.
Shortly after 9 a.m., the so-called Halloween March of the Last Generation took place on the Vienna Ring. Partly dressed in masks and holding banners with the words ‘What if the government has no plan?’ they again criticized the current climate policy in Austria.
Police quickly arrived on the scene to break up the unannounced meeting. This again caused some traffic jams in the early morning traffic.
Your requirements
The climate activists are calling, among other things, for a speed limit of 100 km/h on Austrian highways and no new oil and gas projects or a general ban on fracking.
To achieve this, the demonstrators use radical forms of protest. For example, they stick to streets or train tracks, pour soup over works of art, color fountains or spill fake oil.
