It sounds like a creative excuse for the employer, but it actually happened to a 25-year-old: the young man got lost on his way to work on Tuesday. The employee works in a hut on the Gosaukamm and climbed the mountain.
The 25-year-old took the Gosaukammbahn into the valley to spend his free time there. In the late afternoon he wanted to take the gondola back to his workplace, a hut on the mountain. But the employee missed the last mountain stage.
Lost 100 meters below target
So the ‘foot machine’ had to be used: the 25-year-old Slovak citizen set out on foot – albeit with inappropriate clothing and under the influence of alcohol.
About 100 meters below the hut he lost his bearings and found himself in impassable and steep terrain. The young man then called for help.
Mountain rescue brought employees to the workplace
The Gosau mountain rescue service and a police patrol immediately set out. Mountain rescuers found the disoriented 25-year-old, attached him to a short rope and removed him from the crash site. Finally, the helpers escorted him safely to the hut.
