Because the transfer became hectic, a mother in Germany forgot her ten-year-old son on the train. However, the family was not separated for long.
According to German Federal Police, the family with five children had to change planes in Flensburg, Germany, while traveling from Denmark to Hamburg. The mother had previously been told by the train conductor that she was not allowed to continue on the Eurocity with her ticket and would have to transfer to the regional express.
Bub stayed on the express train
While changing trains, the woman hastily forgot her ten-year-old son in the Eurocity. Instead of getting off, the boy simply stayed on the express train and continued on his way.
When the train conductor noticed this, he informed the federal police and left the Eurocity stop unscheduled in Neumünster, about 100 kilometers from Flensburg.
“Overjoyed”
The family was then successfully searched for on regional trains. “The ten-year-old was overjoyed when he saw his mother,” the federal police said.
