Hamburg Airport is closed after a vehicle entered the grounds. An armed man broke through a gate with his vehicle and drove onto the airport tarmac around 8 p.m., a German Federal Police spokesman said.
The man had a gun and had already shot it into the air twice. He probably has two children on board.
Possible child abduction
The man’s wife had previously reported possible child abduction to state police, the spokesperson said. The newspaper ‘Bild’ first reported this.
Police “robustly equipped”
