Fire alarm on Saturday evening in Kirchberg in Tyrol (Kitzbühel district)! In the Aschau district a fire suddenly broke out in the stables of a farm. A neighbor responded quickly, alerted the farmer and helped him save the twenty cattle. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Around 9:40 p.m., sirens blared in the community of Unterland and the pagers of about 200 Floriani youth in the neighborhood beeped. Flames erupted from the outbuilding of a farm occupied by the owner (52). A neighbor noticed the fire and immediately alerted the owner. Even before the major fire kept the fire brigades from Aschau, Kirchberg, Reith near Kitzbühel, Brixen im Thale, St. Johann and Oberndorf on their toes, the two men managed to get the twenty cattle out of the stable.
The cause of the fire is still unclear
“The roof of the adjacent residential building and that of another building in the immediate vicinity were damaged by flying sparks,” the police said. To extinguish the fire, firefighters had to completely remove the roof of the farm’s residential building to prevent worse. According to investigators, the fire destroyed, among other things, the work machines parked in the farm building and the hay stored there. “No one was injured,” the director said. An investigation is currently underway to determine the extent of the damage and the cause of the fire. Whatever the case, the fire probably started in the stable.
