Milei, leader of the far-right party La Libertad Avanza, chose the central province of Córdoba, the country’s second largest constituency, to end his campaign with a major event, with a euphoric tone and a certain triumphalist atmosphere.

“It is important that we get up this Sunday, reverse history and start the path of Argentine reconstruction,” said Milei, who at the end of his act was assured: “The votes are there and we are going to defeat them. Long live freedom, dammit!“.

For his part, Massa opted for several meetings this Thursday, in closed environments and with a well-defined audience: he presented his proposal at a meeting organized by the main business entities of the country and met students from a public high school in Buenos Aires.

“Be assured that when I have the responsibility to govern Argentina, I will leave my soul and all my strength so that we can build that country that today is a utopia, but also make it a reality,” Massa assured the students.

Behind the first round on October 22, in which Massa surprised with a first place (36.78%) and Milei – the big winner of the August primaries – was relegated to second place (29.99%), the campaign added tension policy.

The decision of the former president Mauricio Macri (2015-2019) and Patricia Bullrichthird in the October elections and present at the closing ceremony of Milei next Thursday, gave his support to the far right opened water in the center-right coalition Together for Change, where several leaders declared themselves neutral and others, without giving explicit support against Massa, they refused Milei to support.

Massa has meanwhile promised one unity government and opponents, and has managed to gain the support of some dissident Peronists along the way.

However, Sunday’s result is unknown. There is a big one percentage undecided and out of nine surveys published in recent weeks, five give an advantage to Milei and four to Massa, but with differences between the two in most cases within the margin of error of each poll.

The reflection period starts next Friday morning. The cards have been dealt and whoever wins with a simple majority next Sunday will lead Argentina from the December 10 and for a period of four years.
