Tatum Goodwin, 27, had spent a fun evening with friends and was on her way to her car when her killer struck brutally. He hit the young woman with a fire extinguisher and dragged her body to a construction site, where it was found by a worker the next day. Tatum’s tormentor was known locally as “extremely strange.”
Tatum stayed late after her shift at a restaurant in Laguna Beach, California, to have drinks with friends. After the group broke up, she walked to her car in the parking lot. But her killer was lurking there.
According to preliminary findings, Dino Rojas-Moreno (26) allegedly dragged the young woman across the parking lot into a dark alley. There he beat his victim and left her body on a construction site, with her head stuffed in a sandbag.
The perpetrator didn’t even know his victim
Tatum was found there the next day by a construction worker who notified police. Rojas-Morena soon discovered this, even though the two would not have had any relationship. Apparently Tatum was a random victim.
The man is said to have worked at a nearby barbecue restaurant. He worked as a bartender. Friends describe him as “extremely strange”
Friends want to build a memorial
Relatives and friends of the victim have launched an appeal on the GoFundMe fundraising platform to build a memorial for Tatum. They describe her as “a very hardworking young lady who always had a smile on her face.”
