No chance of having a child – infertility affects more and more men

Date:

Every fourth couple in Austria who want to have children has difficulty conceiving. A quarter of all men have never thought about their own fertility. In fact, things are not as good as they were a few decades ago. It starts to decline from the age of forty. The climate crisis is also to blame – and the mobile phone in your pocket.

Not only mothers, but also fathers have become older when they expect their first child; the average father is now 35 years old. During the planning phase, this obviously means limited fertility for both women and men. While women quickly think about it, men hardly feel affected if it doesn’t ‘work’ right away. But they also increasingly suffer from a decline in sperm quality and, as a result, reduced fertility.
