Israel has received a list: – More Hamas hostages will be released today

Date:

Israel has received a list of the names of other hostages expected to be released today. The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced this early this morning. Security officials would check the list, it said.

It has not been announced how many hostages will be released on Sunday. Only on Saturday evening did the Islamist terrorist organization Hamas release a second group of seventeen hostages from the Gaza Strip, krone.at reports.

Seventeen hostages were transferred on Saturday
The armed wing of Hamas sent the second group of hostages, kidnapped to the Gaza Strip fifty days ago, to the Red Cross on Saturday evening. The Al-Qassam Brigades announced this in a statement. Hamas said 13 Israelis and four foreigners were transferred, which the Israeli military confirmed

After an initial medical examination, the released people will first be flown to hospitals in Israel. They will also meet their families there. Among the 17 hostages freed were relatives of Tal Shoham, an Israeli-Austrian dual national who remains hostage by Hamas.

“The wife Adi Shoham and the children Nave (8) and Yahel (3) of Israeli-Austrian citizen Tal Shoham have been released this evening and have returned home,” Israeli Ambassador to Austria David Roet wrote on X on Sunday evening ( formerly Twitter). “Unfortunately, Tal is still being held by Hamas.”

39 Palestinians released from prison
In return, 39 Palestinian prisoners were released from Israeli prisons in the evening. They were welcomed by their families in East Jerusalem and the West Bank, Palestinian media reported. Accordingly, there were six females and 33 male youth under the age of 19.

The agreement between Israel and Hamas stipulates that a total of 50 hostages and 150 Palestinian prisoners will be released during the first four-day ceasefire. With the ceasefire, as part of the agreement, humanitarian aid began to be transported through Egypt’s Rafah border crossing to the south of the Gaza Strip to alleviate the suffering of the population.
