The Schwaz fire brigade had to go to an apartment building in the city on Saturday evening. The ashes in a box on the balcony had caught fire.
A 56-year-old German had put the ashes in a box on the balcony for temporary storage. The fire finally broke out around 10:15 p.m. The resident managed to prevent the fire from spreading. However, thick smoke emerged.
The alerted fire brigade eventually extinguished the fire and ventilated the stairs.
No injuries, but material damage
Fortunately, neither the 56-year-old nor any other residents of the home were injured in the incident. However, there was material damage to the balcony, the facade of the house and the fixed glazing to an extent that is currently unknown.
