A dramatic traffic accident in the Amstetten district of Lower Austria claimed one life on Monday evening: a 20-year-old was hit by a minibus, dragged away and died at the scene of the accident.
The 20-year-old Chechen was riding his skateboard on the L90 in Hauersdorf, near Ardagger Abbey, around 6:20 p.m. when the tragic accident happened. The young man was driving on the right side of the road when a white minivan suddenly hit him and dragged him a few meters. The 20-year-old then fell from a roadside and died on the spot.
Was alcohol involved?
The 52-year-old driver of the minivan may have overlooked the man in dark clothing, leading to the dramatic collision. According to initial findings, the driver of the accident may have been drunk. The relatives have now been informed. The St. Pölten Public Prosecutor’s Office has started the investigation.
