The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the President of the EU Council, Charles Michel, met with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday, during which they agreed a more balanced trade and economic equilibrium between both parties.
Von der Leyen has described the meeting on social networks as “good and sincere”and has ensured that the management of the relations between China and the EU are one of their priorities, which is why they have agreed to ‘maintain balanced trade relations’.
“China and the EU have a shared interest in one stable and constructive relationship. The EU will continue to engage with China on the basis of transparency, predictability and reciprocity. We must make our commercial and economic relations more balanced and reciprocal,” Michel wrote on his social network account X.
Moreover, he has emphasized its necessity peace and stability both for the good of Europe and the rest of the world.
