Devastating accident Monday evening in Oberperfuss in the Tyrolean district of Innsbruck-Land: While his father was busy in the stable on the farm, a three-year-old boy fell several meters through a feeding hatch. The injured child had to be taken to the clinic after the first treatment.
According to police, the horrific incident took place around 6:45 p.m. “The 37-year-old local man was inside Barn in Oberperfuss busy throwing hay through a feeding hatch into the stable below. His three-year-old son and his older brother stayed directly with his father,” investigators said.
And then it happened. The three year old tried right next to the father to kick down hay hanging from the edge of the hatch. “He stepped into the void and fell approximately ten feet through the hatch onto the hay-covered stable floor,” investigators continued.
To the clinic with rescue
The child suffered significant injuries. After initial treatment on site, the boy was taken by ambulance to the clinic in Innsbruck.
